Tajikistan under the Central Asia South Asia project, CASA-1000, would start exporting 1000 megawatts of electricity to Pakistan in 2018. A 750 km transmission line is being installed and it’ll be ready by 2018. In accordance with CASA-1000, Kyrgyzstan would also start exporting 300 megawatts of electricity. The cost of the project is $1,160 million which is being financed through World Bank, Islamic Development Bank, Arab Group, and other lenders.
