The first phase of the Quaid e Azam Solar Power Park located in Cholistan Desert Punjab is complete. There are 400,000 solar panels installed in the park which are spread over 200 hectares of land. The solar park is being made in collaboration with the Chinese government, and the government aims to make it the world’s largest solar park.
The first phase of the solar power park has been completed by Chinese firm, Xinjiang SunOasis. It was built in three months and produces 100 megawatts of electricity. The second stage of the project is being built by another Chinese firm, Zonergy. It is expected to be complete in 2017 and will provide 1000 megawatts of electricity.
