How does Spilt AC and Inverter function?

A split air conditioner consists of a compressor, condenser, and an evaporator. The cooling refrigerant is added in the compressor. The compressor, using electricity, compresses the low-pressure refrigerant into a high level hot gas. After the conversion, the hot gas is passed into the condenser. In here, the heat is dissipated from the gas and it is converted into a cold liquid. This liquid is passed into the evaporator which blows it out. The compressor, which consumes the bulk of the electricity, remains on till the temperature reaches the set temperature on the thermostat. Once that temperature is reached, it switches off automatically and then switches on when the temperature falls way below the set temperature. The switching on and off of the compressor consumes a lot of electricity.

On the other hand, the inverter air conditioner automatically adjusts the compressor speed to maintain a constant room temperature. When the temperature reaches the set temperature on the thermostat, the compressor’s speed is lowered instead of switching it off. When the temperature falls way below the set temperature, the compressor speed is increased. Since the inverter AC doesn’t switch off the compressor, this reduces electricity costs much lower than the a split AC.

The solar powered air conditioner configuration is same as that of the split and inverter ac. The solar panel for ac is included in the unit. It is installed on top of the outdoor unit; thus making the configuration solar powered compressor and solar panel cooling system.
